  • “Truly Beautiful”

Have just returned from 10 days at beautiful Nerano staying at Casale Villarena's Villa La Garofanella. The villa was excellent. Very quiet area. Beautiful garden with good sized pool. Immaculately clean villa, well furnished and very comfortable with wonderful viewsacross the bay. Went to Casale Villarena for breakfast - would recommend to start the day with one of Rosa's excellent breakfasts. The Casale and its gardens are also very beautiful and so well maintained. The apartments are large and I think very special. Guglielmo, the owner and his staff were superb, Rosa, who prepared our wonderful breakfasts and a beautiful light lunch the day we were leaving. Mario who maintained the Villa was really helpful said when we first met - if you need anything just ask. He found out details of busesand organised excellent boat trips (available from Marina Del Cantone) to Capri and Amalfi and Positano. Sincere thanks to Guglielmo, Rosa and Mario they made our holiday very special. Review certified by Trip Advisor

  • Great place for a family break

I stayed here with my family last summer, my kids are 7 and 5 and they had a great time in the pool. The accomidation is very clean and well laid out. It is well located and there are great views from the terraced gardens.

  • My wife and I travelled to Italy in the hope of finding beautiful scenery, local culture and good food. We found all of this in the Amalfi region. Travelling to our destination by car from Rome was a hair-raising experience as we decided to take the scenic route around the Amalfi coast. A combination of hairpin bends, sheer cliff drops and the Italian style of driving had me question whether the hire car was such a good idea. However after a day or so you seem to get used to the experience and the car becomes an essential way of viewing the wider region. At first we thought that Casale Villarena may be a little bit too far away from the main towns of Sorrento and Positano but we soon changed our mind as that is exactly what makes this place so special. Perched on a hillside overlooking the sea the accommodation sits amidst lemon groves and below a delightful little village called Nerano. This is useful for picking up supplies if you intend to make use of the self catering apartments. A 15min walk or a short spin in the car will take you down the hill to Marina del Cantone and its lovely beach and waterfront cafes. The apartments are spotless, spacious and offer gorgeous views. The charming host, Guglielmo, is always to hand to offer help and advice and will even book trips for you. I can say without doubt these were some of the finest meals we enjoyed during our two week stay anywhere in the region. The complex has a lovely pool where you can relax and wind the day away with a good book or explore some of the local walks before heading back for a sumptuos meal and a glass of Guglielmo's splendid homemade Limoncello. The larger towns of Positano, Sorrento, and Amalfi are close enough to visit and so this area is well placed to explore them all. With their hustle and bustle and constant tour buses we were always glad to be returning to our delightful retreat. All in all a perfect stay!

  • We travelled here as mum, dad and teenage daughter. We found the standard of accommodation excellent and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Everyone tried their very best to make sure that we had everything we needed and that we had an enjoyable time. The apartment was well located for excursions to Pompeii and Hurculeum as well as boat trips around the Amalfi coast. The pool is set amongst a lemon grove and has superb views over the coast. The owner is happy to provide help with walks amongst the wonderful surroundingg hillsides. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind and yet provide opportunities for travel further afield. This was the best holiday we have ever had, and we were are sorry to leave this little piece of heaven.
